Avasol's Barrier Cream, a zinc-oxide skin protectant for chafing, wetsuit rash and irritated skin — not a sunscreen.

Avasol makes this as the skin protectant in their range rather than a sunscreen: a zinc oxide cream that sits on the skin and takes the friction, so wetsuit rash, chafing and blisters do not start. The base is organic coconut oil, beeswax and jojoba oil with vitamin E, carrying a herbal complex of aloe, chamomile, St John's wort, licorice root, calendula, lavender, rosemary and manuka. The stick and the Environmental Defense Cream handle sun; this one handles rubbing. Reef safe, with no parabens, petrochemicals or GMOs.

How to use

Rub a layer into the places that rub before going out: neck and underarms under a wetsuit, inner thighs on a long ride, heels and any spot already chapped or windburnt. Reapply after a session. It carries no SPF, so pair it with the Surfer's Barrier Stick for sun.
