The Details
team issue runs the length of both sleeves, and that is the whole idea of the garment: AXO put out a Team Issue jersey line alongside a logo redesign in the mid-90s, when its gear was on factory programs like Pro Circuit and Honda of Troy, so the retail version could carry the same sponsor-crowded chest a paid rider wore. Here that is the AXO outline in white, RACING in yellow beneath it, and a row of sponsor marks — FET among them — sitting where a privateer would have had to beg for stickers. The collar is knitted black and yellow with the logo worked into the rib. It has also been signed: marker across the grey shoulder panels and again over the chest logo, several hands, none of them identified here. AXO spent the decade as one of the loudest brands in the paddock, and then Hale sold out of it in 1998 and went off to build Mechanix Wear instead.
