The Fin
Barrett Miller's Ace — a no-nonsense log fin with a balanced medium base, upright lower half and moderate rake, meant to do everything a longboard asks.
Sold as a single fin in solid fiberglass for a standard longboard box, in 9.5" and 10.0", smoke. The outline is deliberately middle of the road: enough base for drive, enough depth and tip area to hold when you walk forward, enough rake that the board still comes round when you get back on the tail. The section is a 50/50 foil, the classic centre-box shape, the same either side with no bias in it.
How that reads
Upright through the lower half is what anchors the tail, so the nose stays down and the board keeps its line while you move up the deck. The full tip area holds while you are up there. Moderate rake means this is not a pure pivot fin — a turn draws out slightly instead of snapping flat — and back on the tail it turns without ever feeling stiff. Nothing it does best, and nothing it refuses.
Who it suits
Longboards of most descriptions, from a traditional log to a heavier all-rounder — the fin to fit when the board should not be specialised in one direction. Take the 10.0" for more hold and a longer turn; the 9.5" if the board is smaller, or you want it looser underfoot.

The Ace is a fin designed to not get in your way — that sounds like faint praise, and it isn't. It's a first single fin for a log rider, or the fin you reach for when you want zero variables: hold, pivot, and drive without asking you to specialize, at honest value for what it delivers.
More About This Fin
The Ace is a single fin designed by Capistrano Beach shaper Barrett Miller around his Ace Diamond Tail noserider, a traditional longboard built in 9'4" and 9'6" lengths, and is manufactured by True Ames. It is sold in 9.5" and 10.0" sizes; the 10.0" has a 6.693-inch base, a neutral 50/50 foil, an upright template through the lower half, and a fuller tip with moderate rake. It is intended for classic single-box longboards in the 9'0"–10'0" range with flat to moderate rocker.
