The medium body and profile is somewhat upright with a gentle amount of rake and pairs well with many mid-length style surf craft. The DP Flex will excel in fast, down-the-line, and point style surf or where you can really benefit from the finely tuned flex and Volan characteristics well-known for providing an added lively & springly feeling. Slight amount of rake and medium flex Pairs well with mid-lengths and can be used as a single fin or in a 2+1 setup with the smaller sizes Volan fiberglass construction, raw finish

The Volan layup is the character: the fin flexes through the body and trunk instead of just the tip, and that body flex is what produces the springy, lively feeling and the projection off the bottom and out of turns.
Put it on a mid-length where you want spring and down-the-line speed, single or 2+1, sized within the 7.75 to 9.25 inch range. If you want the same Volan spring in the benchmark all-around template, the Greenough 4A Volan is the move; for a fuller, more planted log fin, the Hobie Classic.

The Hobie DP (Dana Point) Flex is a Volan single fin made by True Ames with a medium-body, slightly upright template and a gentle amount of rake. The Volan layup uses a heavier, denser weave, hand-laid for weave orientation so the fin flexes through the body and trunk rather than just the tip. It comes in four sizes — 7.75", 8.25", 8.75", and 9.25" — and works as a single fin on mid-lengths or, in the smaller two sizes, as a 2+1 center paired with small sidebites.
