This set is designed to pair with asymmetrical boards made for GOOFY foot surfers.
This set is designed to pair with asymmetrical boards made for GOOFY foot surfers. Ryan Lovelace designed these fins as a friendly well-rounded asym set. The small keel on the toe-side offers great drive and projection while still allowing for vertical pivot off the bottom; The quad setup on the heel-side will lend towards clean cutbacks and seamless redirections.
The side you carve on gets the looser, more forgiving cluster, and the side you drive off gets the planted single keel: a small keel on the toe side for drive and projection that still lets the board pivot vertically off the bottom, and a quad cluster on the heel side for clean cutbacks and seamless redirection.
This is a system fin, not a swap-in: on a goofy-foot asymmetrical board built for this layout it lets your backhand carve loose while your forehand drives off a fixed pivot, something a symmetrical setup cannot do. On a standard twin or single it is the wrong tool, and regular-footers want the Regular version instead.
A complete asymmetrical fin set designed by Ryan Lovelace and made by True Ames in Futures-compatible solid fiberglass. Built for goofy-foot asymmetrical boards, it places a small keel on the toe-side rail and a quad cluster on the heel side. A mirrored Regular version is made for regular-foot surfers.
