Designed by Manny Caro of Mandala Surfboards, this twinzer fin setup has been a part of his go-to arsenal for quite some time. Manny's pursuit and interest in the twinzer design has been alive for a while - which has positioned him ahead of his time as the rest of surf world currently seems to be catching on to the twinzer craze. As an understudy of Wil Jobson
Tuned for balance, synergy, power, and release — the front canard breaks water ahead of the main fin to cut drag and feed cleaner flow, so the rear twin can hold and snap rather than slide.
Run the Mandala Twinzer on a fish or hybrid twin when you want twin speed with thruster-like control and a tighter turn, and lean toward sizing up if you're a heavier-footed surfer chasing drive. For a more stable, drawn-out twin go DELTA-V; for more keel-style glide in a twinzer, go Lovelace.
The Mandala Twinzer is designed by Manny Caro of Mandala, who learned the twinzer under Wil Jobson, the design's originator, and is made by True Ames in FCS-compatible solid fiberglass. The set pairs rear twin main fins, which carry the area, with small front canards set forward and outboard near the rail. It is intended for fish and hybrid twin-fin boards.
The review says the Twinzer adds bite and snap at the cost of a little of the DELTA-V's drawn-out, stable drive.
Carries the keel-family glide and more area, where the Mandala leans more upright and performance-minded.
