Keith Richards picked up a stray kitten on a Barbados terrace while the band were recording, called it Voodoo because it had survived the odds, and christened the terrace Voodoo's Lounge; the 1994 album took its name from the cat. The tour took the name to 134 shows between August 1994 and August 1995, 6.5 million tickets and $320 million, which at the time made it the highest-grossing tour any artist had ever run, past Pink Floyd's Division Bell. The shirt gives none of that away. Both sides are a skeleton banquet: bones seated at a candlelit table passing skulls and cups and cards between them, one set of horns among them, the party spilling over both shoulders onto the sleeves, ROLLING STONES above a red banner β VOODOO LOUNGE on the front, WORLD TOUR 94/95 on the back. It is a danse macabre sold at the merch stand, which is the joke: critics had been calling the Stones too old to do this since the seventies, and the skeletons were outselling everyone alive.
Vintage Rolling Stones Voodoo Lounge World Tour 94/95 t-shirt. Features the iconic skeleton band graphic in white with "Rolling Stones" and "Voodoo Lounge" in bold red text, plus "World Tour 94/95." The skeletons are depicted playing instruments in the classic Voodoo Lounge artwork style. A true collector's piece from one of the Stones' most legendary tours.
