The Storm Rider from Christian Beamish of Surfboards California is the newest offering from our friend here in the Santa Barbara area.
The Storm Rider from Christian Beamish of Surfboards California is the newest offering from our friend here in the Santa Barbara area. After much trial and error in finding a fin to compliment the progressive single fins that he is designing, Christian teamed up with True Ames to create the ideal template and foil for performance single fin surfing. The Storm Rider's upright design enables you to go places on the wave a single fin typically cannot reach. With influences from Brewer, Parrish, and Yater, CB put his own design elements into the Storm Rider to create a single fin for the here and now.
Form | Upright profile, medium base, full tip area
Function | Performance single fin, tight turning radius, easy release off the top
Feel | Immediate response, hold when needed, freedom and flow
Overall | High performance single fin surfing in all conditions
A single fin for the here and now — immediate responsiveness to your input without any lag time.
A pivot-first, quick-releasing single fin built for the back foot and the pocket: responsive through the bottom, easy exit at the top. If you've been running a pivot-style single fin and finding it stalls through turns or doesn't release cleanly at the top, this is the next move.
A 7.75" fiberglass single fin developed by Christian Beamish of Surfboards California in collaboration with True Ames, built to pair with his round-pin, channel-bottom Stormrider mid-lengths. The template draws on the upright Brewer, Parrish, and Yater single-fin tradition, with an upright profile, low rake, medium base, and full tip area. It comes in one size only. Intended for performance single-fin mid-lengths in the 7'0" to 7'10" range, particularly channeled or lightly concaved designs surfed off the tail.
