The Bonzer fins were designed by the Campbell brothers to specifically pair with their Bonzer surfboards in order to complement the unique bottom contours and fin setups of their 3 and 5 fin designs.
The full base and mellow rake are tuned to feed the runners, so water gets organized across the bottom and energy transfers efficiently instead of leaking off the rail — the board reads as a planted single but drives like it has far more fin in the water.
Buy this only if you are riding a Bonzer-bottomed board with runner boxes — there it anchors a setup that glides like a single fin but holds and projects like a multi-fin through long, drawn-out turns. The 8.0 inch suits a 9-foot board, shorter Bonzers mostly run 6.5 to 7 inches, and dropped into a plain single-fin box it loses the entire point.
The Bonzer 8.0" is the largest center fin in the Campbell Brothers Bonzer system, made by True Ames in solid fiberglass, 8.0" tall with a full base and mellow rake. It is designed by Malcolm and Duncan Campbell to run with Bonzer runners on a board with double-concave Bonzer channels. The 8.0" size suits boards around 9 feet; shorter Bonzers typically run 6.5" to 7" centers.
