( 3 Fin Set ) Futures Compatible: High rake and lots of area throughout, this template favors power surfers and performs well in solid sized conditions. All 3 fins are the same size and originate from the glass-on fins which True Ames used to produce for all nearly of the Channel Islands boards back in the 80's and early 90's. Needless to say, these fins are tried and true and are still one of our prized classic and timeless designs.

Hexcore is 25% lighter than normal solid fiberglass fins, without compromising performance — the standard by which system fins are measured.
On a Futures-boxed shortboard in powerful surf, this large Hexcore set drives through bottom turns and projects off the top while feeling lighter and livelier than solid glass. It rewards a surfer who wants the proven CI template with less swing weight; if you push hard and want stiffer flex under load, go solid fiberglass, and lighter surfers should size down to the Small.
The CI Tri Large Hexcore is a three-fin thruster set designed with the Channel Islands team and foiled by True Ames, using the CI-inspired template Chuck Ames refined over decades foiling thruster sets for Channel Islands. It is built in Hexcore, a Resin Transfer Method layup in which hexagonal coremat displaces glass and resin, running about 25% lighter than solid fiberglass with a slightly softer flex. This is the Large size with a single-tab Futures-compatible base.
The same large Hexcore set with the only real difference being box compatibility — pick by whether your board runs FCS or Futures boxes.
The solid fiberglass CI Tri is the stiffer-flexing choice for surfers who push hard and want more resistance under load.
The Large holds better for heavier surfers and bigger waves, while lighter surfers should size down to the Small.
