Part of the in-house designed collection, the Twinzer was born after a few different rounds of template design and R&D. Through utilizing more than fthe decades of fin making expertise, True Ames feel it has landed on this super solid & all-around Twinzer offering. There is an awesome balance and synergy that exists between these front canard fins and the rear twin design which allows them to perform and function in tandem at the highest level. The smaller canard fins that are meant to be seated slightly forward and outside of the twins which will break the water tension and provide increased lift and speed. As a unit, these fins offers that magic mix of plentiful hold and drive, but they will also maintain some of the freedom that comes from a twin. From the TA Twinzers - you could expect fast and fluid down-the-line flow, acceleration through turns, and a combination of a loose / yet drivey feeling. Pairs well with a wide variety of Twinzer board designs - performance shortboards, fish shapes of all sizes, mid-lengths, and longboards Canards have a flat inside foil. You have the option to select from 0°, 4°, or 9° for the front FCS Canards Rear FCS fins have no angle and should be paired with appropriate FCS plugs that do have angle built in Solid fiberglass construction, flat matte finish
It rides like a twin with extra grip, sitting somewhere between a twin and a quad -- you keep the fast down-the-line flow and the drift a twin is loved for, but the canards let you push into a turn harder before the tail lets go.
If your Twinzer-boxed board feels washy on steeper faces, this matched four-fin set is the fix the shaper intended -- twin freedom with bite and predictability when the wave stands up. Run it only in proper Twinzer boxes; a standard twin-box fish is better served by the plain TA Twin.
The True Ames Twinzer is a four-fin set in FCS-compatible solid fiberglass: two rear twins plus two small canards seated slightly forward of and outboard of the mains, where they break water tension before it reaches the rear pair. True Ames built the front and rear fins as a matched unit, and the set requires a board shaped with Twinzer boxes.
Looser and more playful on a standard twin-box fish, and the better buy if your board lacks Twinzer boxes.
