Crafted in collaboration with Tyler Warren, this fin was designed with two main intentions: to hold in the face during critical situations, and to produce a solid amount of drive.
Designed around two goals: hold in the face during critical moments and a solid amount of drive. The rake and full foil give it stability and power, while the thin tip adds feel and fluidity through a turn.
Run the 10 inch on a glider, pintail or square-tail log, or wide-tail mid-length, and the 9.25 on a smaller longboard or egg — it draws long, classic lines and projects through carves in waves up to about head-high. This is a turning-and-trimming single, not a planted noseride anchor; if you want maximum nose hold, the Velzy Noserider is the move.
The Tyler Warren Flux is a longboard single fin made by True Ames in solid fiberglass, available in 9.25" and 10.0" sizes that are not scaled copies of each other: the 10" carries more rake, more tip extension, and slightly more base for gliders, pintail and square-tail logs, and wide-tail mid-lengths, while the 9.25" suits smaller longboards and eggy craft. The template uses a full forward-tapering foil, an extended amount of rake, and a narrow tip, and works in waves from small up to about head-high.
