Designed by Jordan Brazie of Valaric surfboards, this twin slots nicely into the hybrid realm... more full than an upright twin, but not as much drawn out rake as a keel. This fin design works great if you're looking for some added drive, hold and power. Here are some notes from Jordan on the twin design.... "The Libra Twin is the perfect complement to all Valaric shapes designed to be ridden as twins. One of the most common questions I get is about fin selection—keel or upright? I created this fin as the ideal fusion of both, just as my board designs blend traditional flow with modern performance. The result is a versatile, high-performance twin fin that delivers the best of both worlds—drive, speed, and responsiveness—to elevate ythe surfing experience." Well-balanced and sized for a variety of shapes Flat inside foil, 6* of cant Solid fiberglass construction, flat matte finish
A versatile twin that delivers the best of both worlds - drive, speed, and responsiveness.
This twin generates power: it drives off the bottom and holds through turns more like a keel, but the pivot point keeps it from feeling locked into long arcs. Put it on a fish or twin-box board you want to surf with authority in waist-to-overhead surf rather than just skate around — for a more classic upright power twin go TA Twin, and for the loosest pocket feel, Tappy Twin.
The Libra Twin is a hybrid twin template designed by Jordan Brazie of Valaric Surfboards and foiled by True Ames, made in solid fiberglass with Futures-compatible bases. The template is fuller than an upright twin but without a keel's long drawn-out rake, with a wide base and a moderate profile. Brazie designed it for his own fish and twin models such as the Oscillator and Star Cruiser.
The TA Twin is a more straight-up upright power template, where the Libra leans fuller and more keel-flavored for hold.
The Tappy Twin is the loosest and most pocket-quick of the group, where the Libra trades some looseness for drive.
