Crafted in collaboration with Tyler Warren, this fin was designed with two main intentions: to hold in the face during critical situations, and to produce a solid amount of drive. A Southern California native and talented surfer, artist, and shaper, Tyler has got a keen eye for drawing lines–both in and out of the water. With many diverse influences, he strives to shape, ride, and evolve a wide array of surfboard and fin designs. This fin is the perfect accompaniment for a variety of longboards. It features a full forward - tapering foil, an extended amount of rake, and a narrow sensitive tip; these all work together to provide stability, power, and fluidity through turns. Experience the versatility of the Tyler Warren Flux as it does its thing in waves ranging from small to head high or so. Take it for a ride, and enjoy smooth turns and drawn-out classic lines! Our Volan fins are fine-tuned with precision foils as well as proper flex. Crafted with a labor of love at our factory in Santa Barbara, CA, these fins undergo the strictest quality control. Our Volan panels are meticulously hand-laid and templated ensuring optimal weave orientation and superior strength, with flex coming more from the body rather than just the tip. This enhances speed and projection off the bottom and through turns, making our Volan fins a pinnacle of the highest performance flex characteristics. The two sizes have slightly different templates. The 10” has more rake, more of an extended tip, and slightly more base width. This template achieves the same thing as the 9.25”, but for a bigger board. Ride the 10" in your gliders, pintail logs, square tail logs or wide tailed mid-lengths. The 9.25" works great in smaller longboards and eggy type surfcraft. Built to hold in the face while still driving off the bottom: the full forward-tapering foil and narrow, sensitive tip give it both stability under the front foot and a touch of looseness off the tail, with hand-laid volan panels so the flex comes from the body and springs you out of bottom turns.
This is a noserider that turns — reach for it when your board already has glide and you want a fin that adds life through the turn. Put the 9.25" on a smaller log or egg and the 10" on a full log or wide mid-length; if you want maximum locked-down nose time and don't care about turning, the Wayne Rich Power Fin is the stiffer call.
