These side bite fins are designed to provide the maximum amount of performance when added to a single fin on 2+1 surfboards. A great all around template, these fins offers that extra level of stability, projection, and hold you are looking for out of ythe setup. The side bites are offered in six different sizes, so you can find a set to meet any style of board or any sort of need! However... the 3.7" are the most often recommended size for 2+1's.
(2 Fin Set) FCS Compatible
The most popular side bite size for a longboard 2+1, adding real hold and drive without overpowering the center fin.
This is the pair most performance longboarders should start with: on a 9' to 9'6" log surfed aggressively, it lets you push hard into turns off the tail without washing out, catching you where a single fin would let go. If you are setting up a mid-length and want to preserve single-fin glide, get the subtler 3.25 instead, and drop your center fin to 7"–7.5" when you run these.
The True Ames Side Bite 3.7 is a 3.70" tall side bite pair in light Hexcore construction with FCS-compatible tabs, intended for longboard 2+1 setups. It carries more area than the 3.25 size and is typically run on 9' to 9'6" longboards alongside a 7" to 7.5" center fin. The same 3.7 template is also made in solid fiberglass and in a Futures-compatible version.
The review recommends the smaller 3.25 for mid-lengths where you want subtle grip that keeps the single-fin glide.
The same 3.7 template stocked in solid fiberglass instead of Hexcore.
The same 3.7 template for boards with Futures boxes.
