Designed by shaping guru Wayne Rich, these side bites were built to compliment his Power Tilt center fin - although they work incredibly well with a multitude of center skegs.
Designed by shaping guru Wayne Rich, these side bites were built to compliment his Power Tilt center fin - although they work incredibly well with a multitude of center skegs. Slightly more upright than the standard side bites, these side bites have a bit thinner tip area with some more relief through the trailing edge which is designed for precision turns and top-notch performance. By adding these side bites to the center fin, you will experience increased stability and also provide added lift & projection. The 3.4" WR Side Bites are great for smaller riders, smaller board setups, or for those wanting a more subtle addition. The 4.0" size is ideal for average to larger riders, bigger board setups, or anyone looking for more prominent hold and drive.
(2 Fin Set) FCS Compatible, Solid Fiberglass
They run slightly more upright than a standard side bite, with a thinner tip and relief through the trailing edge, which is what makes them turn with precision rather than just adding drag.
Run these with a dropped-down center fin, ideally the Power Tilt they were designed around, on a performance longboard or mid-length when you are a bigger rider or surfing bigger waves and want maximum rail hold. For a looser feel or a smaller board, the 3.4 inch version is the move.
These are Wayne Rich's 4.0 inch side bites, sold as an FCS-compatible pair in solid fiberglass by True Ames. The template runs slightly more upright than a standard side bite, with a thinner tip and relief through the trailing edge. They were designed to complement Rich's Power Tilt center fin but pair with most center fins in a 2+1 setup, and a smaller 3.4 inch version is also made. The 4.0 size is aimed at larger riders, bigger boards, and bigger waves.
